I have owned and worked with dogs all my life but it was not until the early 1970s that I wanted to own a breed that could still do the job it was bred to do but still have soundness, type and physical characteristics that would win in the conformation ring.

My choice was the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. I owned and/or bred several conformation champions, obedience and working dog titled, and open all-age qualified field trial Chesapeakes. To this day, I remain involved with the breed even though I lost my last Chesapeake in the late 1990s. I began to look for another breed that I felt was still bred to do the job it was bred for and still compete in the conformation ring. My desire to learn the sport of herding led me to focus on the herding group breeds.

Our primary purpose is to enjoy our dogs and provide them the opportunity to excel individualHunter_NewPlymouth05ly based on their abilities both in the show ring and performance venues, and still be a good companion dog. In 2006, we teamed with Angie Hall at Whimsy Corgis in a variety of venues so we jointly show case both Pembroke and Cardigan breeds.

Though I don’t consider myself a breeder, I take great care to make responsible choices if and when I decide to produce a litter of puppies. Physical soundness, type and temperament are of utmost importance. A litter is produced because I sincerely believe that both the sire and dam have something of value to offer the breed in conformation and performance venues, and their offspring will be even better.  Some of the resulting offspring will become part of my home and life, and hopefully some of them will find their way to homes where their new owners will have the opportunity to enjoy these wonderful dogs.

Should you have any questions about the breed or any of our dogs, activities and breeding plans, please do not hesitate to contact me.
